Thanks to the new techniques and to a less artisanal manufacture, the marble object tends to be transformed from a single piece – attached to a collective image of luxury – to a piece that can almost be serially reproduced, recovering unedited functional qualities. Castiglioni makes reference to the peculiar characteristics of the material and the possibilities reached in the workings to design a series of tables, once again for Up&Up. A material rethinking of the Servi foots configures the conical truncated base in black marquinia marble holds a tubular stainless-steel stem that supports the circular or oval marble tops. The proportions between base and top determine the height of the tables (40cm, 50cm, 72cm).
